I had so much fun with this family! Jason and Tashli are wonderful parents! I have to admit it was freezing cold, but their little girl is the cutest thing ever! I’m about to introduce you to some people I really love. And yes, she DOES think her husband’s tractor is sexy.
I always wanted a brother or sister, but since my vote didn’t count, I was left as an only child. Every only child who is reading this will agree with me that it gets old hanging out with your parents friends 
. So like any normal child I wanted to play with someone my age, so my cousin Nikki was my playmate. Nikki and I are only 9 months apart, so she is like my sister (and I think I am like hers as well). We had lots of fun growing up together, especially dressing up her brother Trent and making him do silly things because he was too young to know any better.
Nikki asked me to come out to their house and take pics of her and Royce-y, as she affectionately calls her husband. Royce is a roper — I really don’t know what that means but I hear he’s pretty darn good at it! I knew when she asked me to take pics, it mean pics of her animals as well. And I’m sure you are all learning I am not too good with animals, actually I’m most afraid of horses. This is pretty embarrassing to my family considering my mom, Ronda Monson, was a champion barrel racer! Royce has 2 horses he wanted pictures of, so it was quite the sight! Nikki breeds Great Danes so I took pictures of her 2 Great Danes… well tried taking pics until I stepped in a HUGE pile of dog poop! And I can’t forget Noah, Nikki’s Chi-hu-hua (I don’t know if i spelled that right). He’s the prince of the house. I decided to bring my mom along for the day and she was quite the comic relief chasing the dogs out of the picture and declaring as she waved her arms towards the sky, “WIND……. stop!” That one was for you, Nikki .

I will be honest and admit I was sweating beans before this photo shoot. I have never photographed little babies, nor used lighting equipment other than my flash. When Victor and Michelle asked me to take pics of little Ava, I was excited but nervous for the challenge. I was told to be very patient when photographing babies, but it isn’t until now that I understand what that means. I applaud baby photographers! Ava is so precious. My mom helped me work with Ava to get her to smile; most of the morning Ava was in a daze (haha) but we got an occasional smile. I learned so much from this session and will not pretend to be an expert. I hope you enjoy the pics Michelle and Vic, you guys are awesome parents! God has blessed you with a wonderful gift!

If you know the Duran family, you learn to never take them seriously. This freezing Thanksgiving morning MINI session was full of giggles, sarcasm, and jokes on ME. This family knows how to have fun, but since I’m extremely gullible, I thought they were being serious every time they were joking with me. They got me so flustered, I’m glad I got the pics I did . 
Chris and Rebekah have such an adorable son, Collin. He loves to play with any kind of ball and ride in cars. I had so much fun following this little guy around, or should I say chasing?! Special thanks to Amy Farina for squeezing smiles out of Collin and being super silly! Oh and Rebekah brought a HUGE lollipop for Collin and he loved it! It was so heavy it made him topple over many times, resulting in a shattered lollipop… haha. He was content licking it off his face, though! Chris & Rebekah, you have such a beautiful family . I’m so honored I got to take Collin’s first pictures! Yeah
I met Angela while taking pictures for the Abilene Living Magazine. Her business, Absolute Perfection Day Spa, purchased an ad for the magazine. You HAVE to check it the magazine and the day spa. Absolute Perfection Day Spa is located on 3226 Buffalo Gap Road in Abilene… be sure to tell her I sent you! She too scheduled a Portrait Party with her family.

Here is Cannyn. I laughed so hard when I met her. She said, “Mommy, she’s not a monster.” With a confused look on my face, Angela explained how a male photographer came to her school to take pictures of the kids, and he scared her and cried the whole time. Cannyn said his camera was a monster. They had to warm her up to me coming to take pics . I let Cannyn touch my camera and look at the pictures so she really was convinced me nor the camera were monsters.

I am absolutely horrible at names, so I can’t even tell you who these children are! Well, they are Lindsay’s niece and nephews, that’s who they are! I can say the little one by far captured my heart. He ran out the door when I drove up yelling, “Micah… Micah.”
Lindsay is an awesome girl. I met her as a freshman at Tarleton when she gave her life to Jesus for the first time! She had such a hunger to grow in her walk with the Lord! She’s going to school to be a teacher — and she will be an amazing one! She’s living with her family in Fort Worth temporarily, so she asked me to drive down and take some pics of her favorite people! Chuck-E-Cheese seemed to get smiles out of everyone — so thanks Lindsay!
This is the first time I have posted about my family… it’s a shame, I know! Since David and I moved to Abilene I think I have seen my parents more than when we lived a few miles across town. I’m thankful when I schedule shoots in Stephenville because I get to be spoiled by my parents . So any of you who might be reading this and wanting to schedule a last minute session, I might work you a deal . A few weeks ago, my mom said, “You take pictures of everyone else, but you won’t take pictures for me.” Well that was not entirely true… she just never asked! So we decided to take some pics of Mom, Dad and the animals for their Christmas card. We are all thankful Mom initiated the photo shoot because a week later my Dad’s dog, Hans, got really sick so he’s no longer with us. So these pictures are extra special.
Pictured above is Dusty. After the family picture, he ran and hid under the bench and stayed there!

Claire and Burr are my parents neighbors on Oakwood Drive. Claire is a full time mom and Burr is a hunting and fishing guide in Alaska. Since he was home for the holidays, it was the perfect time to get a few family pics! They have the cutest little girl, Laura Blaire, who loves her bunny. Claire booked a Portrait Party with her family and the Stacy family so here are a few pics from their mini session!
