This is probably one of the most fun bridal shoots I (Micah) have ever done! And most entertaining! I met Kelsey a while back when she was an intern at the Wesley Court, a retirement community in Abilene. She told me she just got engaged and soon after we were talking about flying me out to shoot her wedding in Nashville. So a few days before she packed up to leave, we met up to shoot her bridals. I cannot say how wonderful it is to meet a bride who is up for anything and is super calm. It relieves pressure on my end and allows me to be creative. That’s just one thing I appreciate about Kelsey!
I drove all over Abilene looking for the perfect trees — so that was our first stop. We hung paper lanterns in the trees and were set. She brought some dried roses for a bouquet (so cool) and wore her grandmother’s wedding shoes!!! Can you believe it? They fit and totally fit Kelsey’s personality
! Halfway through shooting “in the trees” I realize my cool location was on a frisbee golf park. Frisbees started flying everywhere. I felt so bad for Kelsey but I was determined to finish what I started!

This smile was a result of a frisbee flying right over her head
.
Then off to our next location. When I scouted it out days before I think I neglected to pay attention to the obvious. Well it didn’t seem obvious at the time. This cool wall was on the side of a warehouse — but people lived in it! We unloaded the chair and I looked to my left to see a huge dog tied to a pole. I made sure Kelsey was ok with this potential danger — but after the frisbees, we thought it was hilarious! Then a guy who lives in this abandoned warehouse wanders out to talk. He agreed to let us use the location but for a while he disappeared. He comes back with an old camera and tries to sell it to me in the middle of my photo shoot! Haha. And I can’t get him to understand that I’m loosing daylight and really appreciate the offer, but don’t have any cash on me. Once again, we are struck with randomness!

Kelsey you are B-E-A-U-T-I-F-U-L! Can’t wait for your wedding!

Stay tuned for pictures from her wedding!
